Description
The Castle Dome Turquoise Mine was located about 30 miles away from the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Mine in Globe, Arizona. it originated in the 1940s as a copper mine. The mine closed after World War II and later reopened for turquoise mining. Like Sleeping Beauty, Castle Dome Turquoise has been mined out. The mine closed in the early 1970s. That makes this turquoise not only beautiful, but increasingly rare and valuable. I set the stones in sterling silver. The drop length is about 2.5". I include rubber ear backs and a polishing cloth. To prevent tarnishing, store your earrings in the heavy duty plastic bag provided, then shine them with the polishing cloth after wearing. I tuck your earrings into a decorative jewelry pouch, then into a gift box tied with a ribbon, all ready for gifting.
P.S. Did you know that turquoise is a December birthstone?
